Underlayment

Waterproofing underlayment or Ice and Water Shield serves several functions. It forms a barrier at the drain edges to prevent water back up from ice damming. Waterproofing underlayment is also used to treat areas where shingles meet in a valley. It can also be used on a low pitch roof.
15 lb and 30 lb felt papers (tar papers) are required as county code for most counties. We use 30 lb in most cases as a better way to "dry in" your roof until the new shingles are installed.
